Hello and welcome to AdaBrown Designs. 

 

My actual name is Lucy.  I began AdaBrown Designs in 2020, what a year to start! 

​

The name Ada Brown is actually my Great Grandmothers.  My love of embroidery came originally from the many tablecloths and napkins we owned, that had been created by her, as I was growing up.  Now I embroider onto lovely colourful linen using 4ply cotton yarn.

The work I produce is designed to be beautiful to look at, tactile and robust enough to withstand everyday life.  Just like my Grandmas tablecloths!

 

I design and create modern hand embroidery for embroidery kits, soft furnishings and wall art. I love to design using natural images and reproducing them in a modern simplistic style.

My Embroidery Kits are designed to be straight forward using a few basic stitches. I want everyone to enjoy and get the benefits of some time out, creating some stress free embroidery. My kits are usually completed before the desire to start another work in progress kicks in!   My style is embroidery on a larger scale than traditional embroidery, and the instructions easy to follow.    My Wall Art Complete Kits include a pre-printed natural linen fabric, all the yarn required, a crewel needle, a wooden hoop yarn tidy, colour chart and easy to follow stitch guide. I also have kits that just include the pre-printed fabric together with the stitch guide, for you to use with your own yarn stash.

I am bursting with ideas to bring to my shop, moving forward I plan to create cushion kits and further soft furnishing ideas as well as bringing further wall art designs.
